Now the shortest drive to Playa Tambor!
Yesterday we grabbed a few photo's to show how the road improvements are proceeding just north of us. Big news if you prefer to fly into Costa Rica's northern airport and save some money.
The Liberia, Costa Rica International Airport (officially named Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport) is a good option now for people headed to Playa Tambor.
Its location makes it an ideal gateway to some of the most spectacular and exclusive destinations in Costa Rica. That's why each year thousands of visitors from all over the world choose the Liberia, Costa Rica Airport as their entry point to Costa Rica. Such has been the demand that a new and larger terminal was inaugurated on February 2012.
Under the current road conditions we drove (stunning scenery too!) from Playa Tambor to Liberia in 2 hours and 30 minutes. That trip time should drop as the pavement gets closer to the town of Paquera. Night-time driving is easy as well, just watch out for all the animals crossing the road.
